About the artist

Born, raised and educated in the United Kingdom, my career started as a makeup artist. I would have preferred to go on to art school to study art, but my father thought I should get a 'proper' job. Itraveled the UK as a makeup artist, which ignited a new passion, the desire to travel further.

I went on to work extensively throughout Europe for a holiday company, and spent 8 years working around the Greek Islands. I spent some of the best years of my life in Greece and learned to appreciate the simple lifestyle and culture of these humble people. Being half Greek enabled me to communicate verbally with these people and their lust for life.

I later moved to America where I married, and have made my home for the past 16 years. I got myself a 'proper' job as Director of Sales, working with European travelers. My love for artistic expression never left me, it lay dormant for years, until March of 2003, when I fulfilled a gaping hole in my life and started drawing after a 20 year absence. I took up watercolor even though I had no idea how to apply this medium, and have achieved my desire to express myself on paper, to the constant astonishment of my husband, who still can't believe he never knew that this side of me ever existed.

In 2003 I decided to 'add more color to my life,' as on of my New Year's resolutions, little did I know that it would come to me in the form of my own paintings. Since March of 2003, I have exhibited my work on numerous occasions, from the Windermere town hall, to the Delta Crown Room at Orlando International airport. My work is featured on the website of musical director Benoit Glazer of Cirque du Soleil, where I have had two solo showings at his musical & visual art concerts. My art has helped me to really look at the world and see how beautiful it actually is - something I have a growing passion to portray, in a language all of its own.
